Week 3 Targets

My targets are to be more punctual by stop being late and meeting deadlines, this is largely due to simply forgetting, and then being too lazy to do something at times when I actually remember, these 2 things are holding me back from achieving these targets, however changing my attitude towards things is difficult but I can do things about forgetting such as keeping track of important days on a calendar, and having appropriate alarms set up on days I need to wake up in ample time.

I haven’t made much effort to socialize and get used to people yet, this is important for building up my confidence with people and within myself, which is required for success in all walks of life.

Week 2 Targets

I do not believe I have worked towards any of my targets. However I feel as If I have worked on some, for example during a class discussion on Friday I actively participated in class discussion, this was one of my targets, to be more active in group discussions. Another target which I have worked upon is having a new sound to wake me up on time so I don’t be late, since I first set the target I haven’t been late once.

However I have not worked on my remaining targets yet, I don’t believe I’ve been able to become more sociable, or become a more confident person. These I still need to work on as they’re heavily important for success, as success starts within ones self’s confidence. 

Furthermore I don’t feel as if I have improved in meeting deadlines and efficiency, as I have been handing in work late and past the deadline, I hope to improve on this in time to come, as above all this is the most important in terms of work.

Learning Styles

I do not believe this quiz has helped me very much in my targets, mainly because i don't think anyone is a particular 'learning style' as they learn differently and best in various situations, for example when i was completing the quiz, my answers were split between all three learning styles and sometimes i wanted to put 2 or even 3 different answers.


I participated in a quiz which suggested i was a visual learner, however in other similar quizzes i participated in (where more then one option was able to be picked) i have been listed as a Visual and  Kinaesthetic learner. Which implies i am capable of learning through various learning styles.

Job Advertisement 1

This job position is a warehouse operative in which I am required to work in a team based environment in order to carry our required tasks, which would commonly involve packing, moving objects, transferring etc. Furthermore it would require me to work well as part of a team, have good time managements in order to meet shift deadlines.

Many basic soft skills are required for this job as simple as it maybe be. These soft skills stated in the advertisement itself is; Being a reliable person, having self-motivation without others needing to drive you, able to be flexible in terms of working hours, very willing, show commitment and preforming well in a team environment. 

Job Advertisement 2

I will be required to be in a physically fir state in order for this job role as lifting up to 25KG of weight is required, I will need to work well the team so good team working skills required. A positive and strong work ethic is needed to drive my job to the best possible results, being accurate with my job is also needed.

Job Advertisement 3

This job advertisement is looking for many soft skills within a person.  It is required that a person pays a lot of attention even to the more minor details and have a natural strive within a person for the satisfaction of customers. Prior knowledge on basic use of computers and good English is needed in order to fit the job role best. One needed to have a strong understanding of health & safety as such a workplace can be dangerous not only for me but others around me if the job is not being carried out safely and securely. Honesty and curtesy is require of me towards those around me, these quantities are within ones personality in which I believe I have. Good time management in order to efficiently complete the tasks set ad good sustainability will be required for the job role furthermore. 

My Skills

For the job position of a ‘Warehouse Operative’ there are numerous desired ‘soft skills’ required from a person in order to have a suitable placement for the job, these vary from skills founded in one’s personality to physical skills such as lifting heavy weight objects and even people skills and dealing with other people and working well as a team. I believe I already have many of these skills already prior to applying for such placements. I am fully capable of working well in a team, although I do think that this can still be heavily work on, for example, in a team I do not feel compelled to take control, make bold ideas and have much of a group impact, instead I will stand aside passively and allow others to take the approaches will I quietly follow along. I also have very poor time management, I don’t set aside the correct amount of times for tasks and misjudge how long they will take, I generally am late and have poor punctuality. Despite my numerous negativities I do have honesty and courtesy as a person and am fairly adaptive based around my environment and the people around me, I am capable of showing commitment and being flexible based on what is needed. I would consider myself a reliable person.

My Targets

-          Find a more suitable method to wake up on time, current use of phone doesn’t work as I sleep through it, perhaps purchasing an alarm clock and not positioning it in easily ‘Snoozeable’ location.

-          Become more active when working in groups, take part more, share more ideas and have a greater input.

-          Be more confident and develop a better self-initiative

-          Become more sociable

About Myself

I am 17 years of age male that resides in Kent. I am a very independent person and do not commonly enjoy socializing unless on odd occasions with close friends. I primarily enjoy and spend my time playing computer based games or reading a variety of information, ranging from news, to history, to fantasy and even common knowledge. I enjoy my own company above anything else. I have simple goals in life and seek simplicity within it. I have a wide imagination and someday hope to display this imagination in novels I write. I once had a great interest in computing, but through going through a much larger depth into computing via my course, and continuous daily use at home, I decided I prefer it as my hobby and in my opinion, work and hobbies should never mix, and always be separated, I also decided by doing the course that it’s not for me. With nothing else feasible and/or possible left in mind as to what I want to do in life, I revert back to the simple and basic jobs such as warehouse work in order to have the money needed to live a simple life.
